Show Notes

The Barbados Advocate reported that The Lodge School would close its boarding facility at the end of the 1978–1979 academic year due to financial challenges. The decision, supported by the school's governing body and national education policy, was expected to create more places for Barbadian students and allow the institution to operate fully as a day school. The closure ended a tradition that had existed since the school's founding in 1745, marking the close of a significant chapter in Barbadian educational history.
