The Agricultural Reporter documented a visit by local newspaper representatives to the Turner's Hall oil field in St. Andrew, operated by the British Union Oil Company. Guided by company officials, the visitors observed the growing oil extraction industry firsthand, including an 84-foot derrick and equipment capable of producing 150 barrels of oil daily from depths of 1,600 feet.
