Barbados mourned the tragic drowning of Mr Samuel M. Aline Jr., proprietor of Ridgeway’s Estate in St. Thomas and a respected former Bridgetown merchant.

While swimming at Bathsheba, Mr Aline reportedly disappeared beneath the waves, believed to have been caught by a dangerous current. Despite desperate efforts, his body was never recovered. The tragedy deeply affected the island, reminding Barbadians of life's fragility and unpredictability.
