Show Notes

I am Charlene Holder, project officer at the University of the West Indies Cave Hill Campus. On this day, November 5th, 1950, the Barbados Advocate published an advertisement entitled, Bridgetown Belongs to You, Therefore Keep It Clean. The ad promoted the CBC. A competition that encouraged suggestions from the public for a cleaner Bridgetown. Precisely, suggestions of not more than 200 words were welcomed by December 1st with the best suggestion to be decided by a panel of three judges and awarded $25.
