On this day, November 5th, 1950, the Barbados Advocate published an advertisement entitled, Bridgetown Belongs to You, Therefore Keep It Clean. The ad promoted the CBC. A competition that encouraged suggestions from the public for a cleaner Bridgetown. Precisely, suggestions of not more than 200 words were welcomed by December 1st with the best suggestion to be decided by a panel of three judges and awarded $25.
