The Barbados Advocate reported on an intense lightning storm that struck St. Lucy, injuring several residents and causing extensive damage to homes and other properties. Residents experienced temporary blindness and hearing loss, while lightning damaged roofs, doors, electrical systems and trees. The unusual storm left a dramatic trail of destruction across communities including Checker Hall and Dean’s Hollow.
