Show Notes

The Agricultural Reporter documented an encouraging outlook for Barbados’ agricultural sector, with favourable weather and improved cultivation contributing to healthy sugar cane and promising food crops. Yam, eddoes, corn and breadfruit were among the crops highlighted, while planters increasingly adopted fertilizers and dedicated cane nurseries to improve yields. Despite challenges with ratoon canes and declining poultry stocks, the report captured a period of strong agricultural production and optimism about the island’s harvest.
