Show Notes

Glendale Children’s Home in St. Thomas officially opened under the management of the Child Care Board, providing accommodation for 30 children who were transferred from the St. Michael District Hospital. The opening represented an important step in the development of organized child care and protection services in Barbados, just one year after the Child Care Board was established by statute.
