The Barbados Advocate reported that the House of Assembly approved funds to retain land at Waterford originally earmarked for a new hospital. Although the 1950 hospital plan never materialised, decades later Waterford became the site of a new public geriatric hospital, linking an early development proposal to modern healthcare planning in Barbados.
