The Barbados Advocate reported that former World War I soldier Kenneth Gaskin had been charged with the murder of his longtime partner, Metta Clement, at Watts Village, St. George. The case later went before the Court of Grand Sessions, where conflicting evidence about Gaskin’s mental state emerged before a jury found him guilty and he was sentenced to death.
