 A devastating fire broke out on Reed Street in Bridgetown, destroying Mr Donald Lashley’s wooden garage and two Studebaker cars valued at £500. Thanks to the swift response and bravery of Captain C.A. Reid and the nearby fire brigade, the blaze was contained before it could spread through the densely populated neighbourhood. Though losses were significant, both businesses were insured, offering hope for recovery after the tragedy.
