On this day, November 14, 1839, the Barbadian newspaper reported that a deputation of 50 laborers from the parish of St. George, well-dressed, and well-mounted rode in procession from the station house of District B to Government House. Their purpose was to present an address from their fellow labourers to His Excellency, the Governor, Edward Waithe.
