Show Notes

Greetings. My name is Carrie-Anne Haynes Knight, a graduate of the Faculty of Humanities and Education, the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus. On this day, November 30th, 1916, The Agricultural Reporter informed its readers of the purchase of the Barbados Light Railway by the Government of Barbados for 20,000 pounds. The railway had been in existence from 1881, with lines running from Bridgetown to Carrington and from Carrington to Bell Plain in 1883.
